MEMORANDUM TO: Director of Health and Human Services FROM: Manika Gupta, Hofstra University President of the Wellness Council of America (WELCOA) DATE: March 23, 2015 RE: Recommendation for Wellness and Fitness in the Workplace Summary Wellness in the workplace is an important part of all professions where employers need to promote healthier lifestyle. There should be programs to improve the overall health of workers without making employers spend more on insurance for their employees. Factors such as refining employee knowledge on health, helping employees acquire health screenings and follow-up care, immunizations, and the reduction of hazards found in the workplace can all be promoted in the workplace (The U.S. Dept. of Labor, 2012). The wellness and fitness programs should be beneficial to both the employer and the employee. They should be more aware regarding the preventive treatment, also giving them access to fitness centers. There are discussions about the implementation of these wellness and fitness programs. My focus as the President of WELCOA is to recommend the ways for implementation of these programs. Background More than 130 million workers have employment in the United States. These individuals spent a major amount of their time at work. So, wellness and fitness programs should be a part of any workplace to promote physical and mental well-being. With adoption there are often many issues that can arise. The issues during an adoption can range from ethical, moral, to legal issues. One might think there could be many legal issues when it comes to an adoption, but not many may think of the ethical and moral issues that can come about in the adoption process. Ethical issues can arise in the post adoption process by the way of wrongful adoption liability. This issue pertains to two categories, fraud as the basis for wrongful adoption, and negligence as the basis for wrongful adoption. This issue has been decided in many court cases. In many of these cases the mother uses one of these arguments as a basis to try to revoke the adoption, and gain back their parental rights. The culture of the group is Swimming but it can be anything that members have in common and identify with, as is the case with Rugby Clubs or Ethnic Gangs. All groups have leaders or activists to co-ordinate things, The Swimming Club is no different. Boundaries may be set formally by way of a fee or non formally and are recognised by both insiders and outsiders of the group. The Club or groups success engenders both communal and individual pride within the group. Pride in the group also gives rise to loyalty.
